Issues

The publishing and multimedia sectors play a fundamental role in the dissemination and enhancement of knowledge and cultural heritage, which our societies recognize both as a common good and as a support for economic activities. Over the past twenty years, the rise of the digital humanities has profoundly changed the activities of these sectors by multiplying the possibilities of forms and content of cultural products made available to the public (digital publishing, virtual reality, documentaries, etc.).

Today, mastering the editorial and multimedia design processes – a guarantee of the quality of these products – requires above all a good knowledge of heritage content and the technical possibilities of enhancing it.

To achieve this, the CMIs in the “Publishing and Multimedia” field rely on training courses that develop critical thinking and a strong cultural background (History, History of Art), coupled with modules for acquiring multidisciplinary technical skills, from the most classical (law, historical sciences) to the most innovative (digital). The challenge is to train professionals capable of putting support at the service of content, with rigor, efficiency and innovation.
